The Exchange is a private membership community. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.
What we collect
When you apply for membership we collect your name, email address, mobile number, city, who referred you, and your answers to the questions on the application. If you register for an event we also keep your ticket and payment record, and the name, email and phone number of any guest you bring, so we can send them their own ticket and reach them on the night.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
How we use it
To review your application, to run the events you register for, and to tell you about upcoming ones. That means email, and text messages if you have agreed to them.
Mobile messaging
If you agree to receive text messages, we use your mobile number to send you confirmations for events you register for, reminders, and invitations to upcoming events. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop them, or HELP for help.
No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors who provide support services, such as our messaging provider, is permitted solely so that the messages can be delivered. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party for any other purpose.
Who else sees your information
The people who run The Exchange, and the service providers we need to operate: Supabase for our database, Amazon Web Services for hosting and email delivery, Stripe for payments, and Twilio for text messages. Each of them only receives what they need to do their part.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. Hosts and sponsors of an event receive a guest list for that event so they can greet people at the door; they do not receive the wider membership list.
Your choices
Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, which stops the invitations while still letting through anything about an event you have already booked. Replying STOP to a text stops texts entirely. You can ask us to correct or delete your information at any time by emailing info@entertheexchange.com, and we will do it.
How long we keep it
For as long as you are a member, and afterwards only where we need it: financial records for tax and accounting, and a record of your messaging consent or opt-out so we can prove we honoured it.
